June 1942. Rommels armies had captured Tobruk and were pressing down on the Allies last ditch defensive line at El Alamein. A violent series of assaults between July & early September were bravely repulsed. Rommel's nose had been bloodied and now Monty's 8th Army would take up the offensive.
