The St Albans Residents' Association’s (SARA) mission is to foster a spirit of community in St Albans.

In carrying out this mission SARA will pursue the following goals :

  • To actively promote and maintain the interests of the full diversity of the residents of St Albans.
  • To facilitate communication and participation of the residents of St Albans in any local authority or central government issue which may affect the suburb.
  • To encourage any activity which promotes the welfare of residents living in St Albans.
  • To foster local participation and ownership of projects and initiatives in the St Albans community.
  • To act as a vehicle in partnership between the local community and the various agencies of the Christchurch City Council.

The intention of SARA is to play a part in the development of a vibrant and healthy community brought about by involvement and empowerment of its residents through the activities of the committee and the Community Facilitator.


The SARA committee meet on the second Monday of the month at 7.30 pm in the St Albans Community Resource Centre. Members of the Public are welcome to attend and participate. The day to day activities of SARA are managed by Douceline Wardle , the St Albans Community Facilitator. She can be contacted at the centre between 11 am & 3 pm.
